Common sense is the most important factor in training any dog – with Rotties if you remember that you are the boss then things usually go quite smoothly. Rotties are extremely intelligent (they outfox me all the time!) – and the discovery of just how far he or she can push you is their greatest joy – take up the challenge and you will have a wonderful time!
The Meridian Rottweiler League has a breeder’s program whereby they encourage breeders to send their puppies and owners for training and socialisation, and I have always been a most enthusiastic participant in the issuing of vouchers! Training and socialisation of your puppy can be a great family fun activity, and the Meridian Rottweiler League is certainly one of the the best place for Rottweiler training in JHB. (Depending on what you are looking for of course!) The other big attraction is that more than half of most classes are made up of puppies from De Liemers Rottweilers – so comparing litter siblings can also be lots of fun! The photo featured here was kindly sent in by Samantha Leigh Erwee who got her boy Henri Nash from us (He was bred by Von Bronx Kennels) – don’t let the relaxed picture fool you however, Samantha works very hard at training and takes part in the shows as well – owning a Rottweiler is a serious business for her and she is not shy to say that owning a Rottweiler has been one of the best things she has done in her life!

From all the reports I have had back from Pretoria puppies and owners, Shadi is the best and runs a very good show!
